 # How Much Do Breast Imlpants Weigh?

This question is common among women considering breast augmentation surgery. Often, there is concern about how heavy the implants will be, whether or not they will cause stress on the back muscles resulting in backache, bra strap indentations in their shoulders, and so forth. Fortunately, breast implants are not that heavy. Mind you, if you get extremely large breast implants, such as 1000cc, they will definitley have more weight than a 500cc implant. Here’s how the weight breaks down:

## Silicone Breast Implant Weight

1cc weighs 0.0375 oz.

To calculate the weight of silicone implants, use the following formula:

Weight for a set of 300cc breast implants

300cc x 2 = 600cc (for both implants)
600cc x 0.0375 = 22.5 oz.

To convert ounces into pounds, divide the total of 22.5 oz. by 16 (there are 16 ounces in 1 pound)

22.5 ÷ 16 = 1.40625 lbs. which can be rounded to 1.41 lbs.

OR

A shorter way is to take the weight of both implants and then divide by 426.67. Example:

300cc x 2 = 600cc
600cc ÷ 426.67 = 1.406 lbs.

## Saline Breast Implant Weight

Saline implants are just a teensy bit lighter in weight that silicone, but the difference is so negligible that it isn’t noticeable.

25cc = .053 lbs
50cc = .11 lbs
75cc = .158lbs

100cc =.21lbs.

To calculate the weight of saline breast implant, use the following forumla:

300cc x 2 = 600cc (for both implants)
600cc ÷ 100 = 6
6
x .21 = 1.26 lbs

OR

A shorter way is to take the weight of both iplants and then divide by 473.18.

300cc x 2 = 600cc
600cc ÷ 473.18 = 1.26 lbs.
